YANTEE is an Austin-raised independent artist making futuristic R&B with catchy melodic hooks and rap verses. He writes, records, and mixes his own music and is the founder of CUTWGOLD.

The sound

Melody leads YANTEE's sound: memorable hooks, expressive vocal tones, and a natural movement between singing and rap. He lets the beat set the mood and shapes his delivery around each record. Early studio experiences left him feeling rushed or dissatisfied, so he spent years learning to write, record, and mix on his own terms.

Performance experience

In the music scene since 17, YANTEE came up around Sixth Street, West Campus, and East Austin nightlife. His early performances ranged from house parties to clubs. He has performed at numerous bars across Sixth Street, East Sixth, West Sixth, the Domain, and the wider Austin area, as well as in Dallas, Houston, and Denver. His experience includes independent shows held during SXSW in 2022 and 2023.

On stage

YANTEE brings his melodic vocals and rap delivery into the same set, with a focus on carrying the sound and feel of his records onto the stage. His experience spans intimate house parties, clubs, and independent showcases.

Hooks & verses

CUTWGOLD's beginnings

CUTWGOLD began as an idea between YANTEE and a high school friend around 2012. When that partnership ended, YANTEE continued developing the idea through his own music, artwork, and experience as an independent artist. Conversations with rappers, singers, and DJs helped clarify its purpose: supporting artists who take their craft seriously, helping them navigate the music business, make informed investments in their work, and protect their independence.
